History
A large group of women, who worked in a textile factory called "Cotton", started a protest strike against the inhuman conditions in which they were forced to work. After a few days of strike, Mr. Johnson, the owner of this factory, decided to close all the women in the factory as a punishment for their revolt. Soon however his actions became a real tragedy: there was a fire and as no-one could escape, all the women inside the factory perished in the flames It was Rosa Luxembourg who suggested this date as the official day for women's rights and over the years this has become a significant date for the liberation of the figure of women in society and in general for defending their rights.
